Prayer request for a great friend

My friend James who is 65 years old has been a coal miner for close to fourty years, he retired in October 2021 and in January 2022 he has been on oxygen 24 hours a day. He had only 19 percent lung capacity due to black lung, James had a double lung transplant at University of Virginia Monday evening and is recovering in ICU. The doctors said the lungs are working but they have to keep a close watch on him as his body accepts the new lungs. Please hold James and his family up in prayer as he has a long road ahead of him.

Father, I come to You to pray for James as he attempts to heal from his double lung transplant. Please give him comfort, healing, and freedom from pain. Father, You are the Great Healer and I pray that You hear my prayer for James and all the prayers being sent up in his name. AMEN

They removed the vent from James and his daughter said that he asked the doctor for a cup of black coffee, he must be feeling okay as far as I know. I appreciate the prayers for James, I will update when I get more news.

They are taking James down to surgery to drain fluid from his incision the width of his chest.

Update on James, he is in ICU and coherent doing good for the condition he is in. His lungs are full of blood clots, the docs have him on blood thinner to slowly dissolve them, his heart is being affected on the right side and he can't eat any solid food. Continued prayers are very appreciated.

James called me yesterday and sounds good, he has blood clots in his lungs so they are treating him with thinner. He said he walked down the hallway and hopes to get stronger soon, we all appreciate the prayers and want to praise God for His mercy and grace.

James is supposed to get out of the hospital today and will have to stay at an apartment near the hospital for two months. I praise God for answering our prayers, I appreciate you all for your prayers and support. May God be glorified!
