Sharp Shoulder

What is the benefit of an extremely sharp shoulder on a rifle cartridge? Is it harder to hand load? I am asking cause one of my son's friends is selling a 28 Nosler and from what I can find out it has a very sharp shoulder.

It will let the case have the most volume for whatever size it is would be my guess.

That's sort of how Ackley 'improved' the various cases he worked with.

It resists case stretching, more reloads between trims in addition to the extra horsepower.

If you have ever reloaded 22-250, you know what I am talking about.

There would be no negatives regarding the shoulder angle on the 28 Nosler.

I consider the 28 Nosler about the largest .284 case practical. RUM and some wildcats are larger, but the 28 Nosler is already at the edge of diminishing returns. Personal opinion, of course. The 7-30 waters and 7mm-08 are two of my favorite smaller capacity cases.
