Went to range today with my IG1911. Had amazing session using loads with IMR4350. I used loads between 36 and 39 grains and 37 was the sweet spot. Loaded under a powder coated and gas checked Lee .309, 200 grain boolit. Squeezed out 1 1/2 group. Anybody else have a recommended load for their IG1911 or 96/11?

Sure
12 grains of Red Dot
Rcbs 165 sil PC .311
Will do 1.5" @ 100 yards
Great accuracy with alot less powder

Yes, Lyman 314299 Powder coated and sized .309, 23 grains of ADI 2207 + .75 grain of polyester wadding shoots a treat

Am I correct in assuming these loads would do well in the K31?

I shot a 96/11 Schmidt- Rubin in 100-yd. high-power matches for almost 5 years. My best load and bullet combination was a Lee 180 gr. cast bullet driven by 19.0 grs. of 4759, lit by a Remington 9. 1/2 Large rifle primer. I fired a 50 yard group with this combo(5shots) that measured .304! ............................

This is my best group so far with a Lasercast 170FNGC. I've since moved on to trying the 311299GC but got side tracked with life and haven't got that bullet completely worked out yet. I like 2400 for the majority of my cast bullet rifle.

I had good luck with Lyman's 311413 170 gr and 311299 200 or 210 gr I don't remember the exact bullet weight with the 311299 but both 170 and the heavier were loaded with 10.0 grs of unique. I had a 96/11, a 1911, and a K31 and all did around an inch and half or better. One thing i learned about the Swiss rifles is that a K31 has a larger chamber than the rest of them and some die companies don't take that into account.

I have 2 k31s and haven;t shot cast in either of them. Try as I may, I couldn't get any of my cast bullets to start up into the lead, guess I will use these guns for "Vintage Military Rifle" w/jacketed bullets!!!..............

Are they bore ride style? Sometimes they can be a bit oversize for some bores. A simple nose size will fix them.

Don't know what the history of your rifle is, but, heavy fouling in the bore could be an issue as well.

Not a 96/11 or 11, but my 1946-ish K31 that was sporterized years ago will put them all where I want them to go with 18 grains of 2400 and the little Lee 155 grainer intended for the 7.62x39. It’s a great soft-shooting load that really can’t be beat for punching paper and targets out to 200 or so yards.
