Hey Guys, What is the going price for lead. Local guy wants 25 lb. and I have no idea what it's worth. Don't want to hold him up, but don't want to give it away. Thanks, James C.

Around here if the scrap yard has it, it goes for about 1.00 a lb, online 2.00 a lb seems more common, or higher.

On Craigslist I can get it for 1-1.25/lb if I am patient. Ingots, not raw.

Local yard sells for $.75 a pound, but I jut bought 600# of soft water pipe for $ .50 from a private seller I found. That should get me through my shooting days, unless I get into BPCR shooting.

if you look at the header of the Lead and Lead alloys section, there is a ticker with current price. Today it's 98¢ a lb.

A few days ago I noticed that the Fleabay crowd seems to think it’s worth around $3/pound.

A few days ago I noticed that the Fleabay crowd seems to think it’s worth around $3/pound.

By the time they pay all the fees, $1.oo a pound might be all they end up with.

Plus, they cater to a market where not everybody has access to all the comforts of living near a big town or city.
$3.oo a pound might be a good deal if the closest place that will even sell to the public is 150+ miles away.
