My Old, New To Me Rolling Block

I have always wanted an old Rolling block and while I know it's not the one that is on everyone's favorite list for some reason I really wanted an 1879 in .43 Spanish. I seen one at lgs a couple weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking about it. So today I went and talked them down and brought it home with me! Super excited about this one and ready to start the task of finding reloading components to make this old gun bark again. The rifling in this thing is great. Nice rifle, I have a couple of muskets too but no rollers. Now you need to hunt up a sling and a bayonet to complete the ensemble. Good luck on your quest for .43 Spanish reloading components.

Yeah, I don't know about a bayonet. I do want to put a sling on it as I have a sling on all my rifles. What would the original sling looked like on this gun?

I bought a roller carbine a while back and love it. Simple but it works.

I vaguely remember putting a US 1907 sling on mine for a short while. Then I needed the sling for something else.

Congrats on your roller buy, how's the trigger pull?

The trigger is not to bad. I have not put a gauge on it but just guessing it's around 4 1/2 to 5lb. It is crisp clean nice break. We will see how well it feels when shooting it. Triggers always feel better when your not actually firing the rifle lol.
