Since I use only Lee molds for all my boolit making, I don't know how to 'read' Lyman's mold numbers. Can anyone translate for me?
Thanks!

The best tool that I've found is a catalog from Midsouth Shooters. When someone gives a number I look it up. If it's a vintage mold we have a sticky on this forum with lots of info.

From the LEE website:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOLD NUMBER CODE
C 309 180 R
Gas Check Diameter Weight in Grains Point Shape
TL
Micro Bands for
Tumble Lubing
with Lee Liquid Alox WC = Wad Cutter
SWC = SemiWad Cutter
RF= Round with Flat
R= 1 0give Radius
TC= Truncated Cone
On Lyman molds the first three numbers are the size and the following are just reference numbers that you will need some reference to determine the boolit shape. IE; 311413 will be a boolit of .311 diameter and the 413 desigin of that diameter. The only way to determine the shape of the 413 boolit is with a chart of some sort such as in 'castpics'.

Cajun shooter & Will, thanks! I knew how to read Lee's molds; I wish the other companies would adopt a similar system.
