Came across a fellow getting out of casting and picked up a load of equipment, and lead.
The highlights are:
Lyman t mag ii press
Lubrisizer 4500
Case trimmer
And rcbs pro melt pot
8 or so sets of dies
Bench primer and hand primer
And a bunch of odds and ends.

Nice score.

I expect to hear more stories like this as we "old timers" accept reality.

Congratulations, now if you haven't already done it, you have a bunch of homework/reading to do. And I do mean congrats in a good way.

Thankfully, a couple of books came with it, a casting book and the 48th edition lyman book. I am still going through everything to figure out what is there, one die set appears to be an old lyman 310 set with an after to standard press threads.

When you get "ambitious", post a few photos. We'll help identify stuff and point out what you might need to "complete" some tasks with the equipment you have. You are on a roll...well done. Keep the reloading and casting flame hot.

I qualify as a “geezer” but I am taking my stuff with me or I’m not going ! :bigsmyl2:

Did your haul include a set of 45-70 dies, rf your previous post considering the use of your 310 tool? If not you now have a decent press, and a variety of reloading dies. Adding a set of 45-70 would be your next step if not already in the mix.

After retiring, I’ve started to think more about purchases being more for immediate consumption instead of an investment.

Thats a nice score! If you need any help identifying some of your purchases feel free to post pictures and to ask.

Well, I read that you are just starting out in reloading not just beginning casting. So this recent score of yours is most timely!

Congrats!

Thanks guys, of the dies that came with it, about 3 are sets i need. I do still need 45-70 dies as well. I have been accumulating the dies I need as well. It came with 5000 primers as well, 3000 different projectiles as well as a couple thousand boolits. Some lead, 50- lbs of lead shot, a mec 12 ga press, roughly 6 lbs of clays and hs6, 1000 wads, 500 hulls, acouple toolboxes of small parts.

It will take you a while to sort through all of it. If you don't have a place to load now is a good time to look around and see what you can use. I loaded out of a Salesman's case for years, then mounted a press on the backside of the breakfast bar that we never used. When our oldest son moved out I told my wife I didn't loose a son, I gained a reloading room. She was glad to get it out of the family room.

You also have a chance to play with some reloading dies and equipment to evaluate what you like. This should guide you in your purchases in the future. Give yourself time to experiment and play with what you have first.

Good score, congrats.

You don't say where you reside but I would bet there is someone that lives close enough to help you if needed.
