Is the saeco #69 a good mold and will my rcbs handles work on it if I bore out the screw holes?
Thanks Bill

The Saeco 69 is a great mold. I and my friends have shot 1000s and they fed in a bunch of different 1911s, but didn't do good in a glock. It is very similer to an H&G 68 plain base. The H&G has a little thicker base.

I could be happy with that one boolit for my .45s even though I have switched to the H&G 68 plain base.(not because of need, but because I got a great deal on the H&G mold)

I've modified my RCBS handles for a SAECO 148 grain wadcutter mold. As I recall, I ended up having to tap the holes in the handle for the mold's screws. The SAECO screws were just a little bigger than the holes in the handles. BTW, if you have a Harbor Freight store close by, they have pretty inexpensive tap and die sets.

I also have a couple of Saeco #68 moulds. They are excellent moulds and the bullets cut a cleaner hole than my H&G #130. They seem to shoot about as well as the #130, also (and that is REALLY good - under 1" at 25 yards).

I slightly prefer the H&G only because the four cavity mould that I have for the H&G is absolutely the best mould out of nearly 70 that I have. It is a WONDER (all cavities are the same and the bullets just fall from the mould). The Saeco's are nearly as good, just not quite. Frankly, I would be just as happy with either of the three if the truth be told. Good is good!

I have no problems with a bevel base but some claim they are not as accurate. I can live with either...
