I’d sure like to see your results. I’ve got a Ruger Old Model Flattop with a 4 5/8” barrel that I just started to shoot again.

5 grains of Bullseye or TiteGroup in .357 brass with 158 works for me. 900 fps from 3" barrel.

5.0 Bullseye or Red dot, but 6.0 grains of Unique was my favorite "sub" magnum load for the 357. Worked great on Jack rabbits back in the 70's.

For me, Red Dot/Promo 5.0 gr. under a 158 gr. SWC in a .357 case is right at 1000 fps. in my Security Six 6".

My standby for many years is 6.0 of Unique under an RCBS 150KT. Runs right at or just under 1000fps in 4-6" barrels. I was gifted an 8# jug of AA#7 and have been working on loads with it. 10gr under the same boolit is just over 1000fps. Does not seem to be as accurate as the Unique load but have not done much testing yet, just worked on getting the velocity equal to the Unique load. The AA#7 does meter better than the Unique by a wide margin.

I go a bit more unique ( about 7 grains) for my bulk ( 30 cal. ammo can) 357 ammo with Lee’s 158 SWC tumble lube bullet. Still comfortable out of my pythons and troopers. Your S&W 28 is heavier than those.

Thank you…great to see even a fast burner as Bullseye is recommended…great powder at modest velocities. Bullseye was all I used in 38 Spl decades ago…2.7 grs 148 HBWC; 3.5 grs 158 gr RNL (“service” load) and 4.0 grs 158 gr RNL/SWC for +P.
