Anyone loaded the Speer 45ACP plastic target bullets in a 45LC?
They work as primer powered in my 45's very well.

Not the plastic ones, but I used to load my wax bullets in specially prepped, 45 LC cases. I enlarged the flash holes, IIRC I used a 3/32 drill, as specified in an contemporary gun-rag article. This was supposed to prevent primer set back from tying up the gun and I guess it worked, for I ran hundreds of them through my old Iver Johnson Cattleman. I never did become the next Matt Dillon, but I had fun shooting them in the basement.

Never shot the 45 but I shot a ton of the 357 plastic case/bullet rounds in the basement when I lived in town. Primers were $5.00 a thousand. Lee made a 357 shell holder for the plastic cases in the old screw in priming tool . I used a sheet of canvas hung for a backstop. Things just seemed to be more fun in the old days.

I've used them in SSA and Coly New Service revolvers. Has to drill the flash holes out with a #28 drill to keep primer set back from tying up the cylinders. After that they worked as well as the plastics in any other cartridge.

Drill primer pockets - #28, 9/64,3/32 all work in 45 Colt with the Speer Plastic 45's.
