I see it's been a long time since I loaded 32acp. It was before I got a turret press and before I was casting. I had Been loading 71gr fmj target stuff. Found my empty baggy!

Wanted to load some up..searched my molds and as small as I have is 93gr ( 32 long/hr mag/fed mag ).

Made up some test bullets using a harder alloy to drop the weight.

After sorting the lightest I came up with a hand full of 86.5gr projectiles after lube and size.

I have 85 gr data and feel fine using those..i usually never get past mid way anyway. Using green dot because I'm low on unique and red dot and have no other listed powders according to the Lyman cast handbook.

Forgot how small those cases are. Start load is 1.6, max 2.3 for 85gr. I stopped at 1.9gr... Case seems pretty darn full. Rain came up so no range test today..but will try tomorrow.

Anyone else loading similar?

I put an add up for 75/85 gr .312 mold. Hope I get a hit. It's alotta work to cast extra hard batch and sort 93gr drops looking for light ones.

Thanks

Ps..they sure do look nice though.

I have shot a couple thousand 90 grain Hornady .314 diameter swaged SWC over 2.6 grains of Herco in my old Walther PP

I load for both .32acp and .32sw long.

My base recipe is the Lee .314 90 gr SWC which is a truncated cone tumble lube design.
2 grains of Red Dot, CCI Small pistol primer.

I have a H&R snubbie in .32sw long which I was letting a friend try at the range. Real shotgun pattern, all over the paper.

So I loaded it, took a one handed duelers stance, put 6 rounds down range as fast as I could cock and aim.
Pull the target back and at 21 feet all 6 were easily in a one inch circle dead center in the bull. 2 triangles, top one pointing down, bottom pointing up. Points just missing each other. Point for the bottom triangle was centered in the top and vice versa. Now my friend was a 14 year Army Ranger with 2 tours in the sandbox.

When he saw the target his eyes got big, mouth dropped open. He kinda stuttered "How in the heck did you do that"

I threw over my shoulder as I walked away. "Use the Force Dude!"

My .32acp loads with essentially the same recipe shoot just as well from my Italian Beretta 81 trade in. But with a whole lot more shots and a faster reload.

I have yet to find a caliber that won't shoot that little .314 90 gr like gangbusters. Just have to play with it. I don't push it too hard, cast out of 50% COWW and 50% soft range lead with maybe 1% pewter/tin added for fill and shine.

Myself, I am not a 32 big boolit fan. My one foray in that direction shot far enough from POA to discourage me from trying it further. However, Outpost 75 has done a lot of work along those lines and has several preferred cast bullet molds from Accurate, ranging from 77-90+grains, that have worked very well for him. He has frequently published some of these loads and I hope he comes to the party in this thread. He and Larry Gibson are sort of the E. F. Hutton's of casting--when they speak, wise people listen.

If you PM me providing an email address which can accept 5MB of .pdf attachments I can send you those Fouling Shot issues with heavy . 32 ACP data. Loading 2 grains of TiteGroup or 3 grains of Autocomp with Accurate 31-077B, 31-081H, 31-087B, 31-087T or 31-090B is a good start. Min OAL is 0.955"

I occasionally use the Lee 93.0gr RN cast from a 6-cavity mold. I normally size them .311” for use in various.30’s I now powderscoat them for use in .30carbines.
In the .32acp, I use 1.6gr of BullsEye. 1.8-2.0 GreenDot will work well.

I have a Lyman.311316 78gr RN and have used it for decades, but the Lee 6-cav just “rains” bullets!
I’ve also used the Lee 90gr TL-SWC. Feeds effortlessly through my KelTec and Beretta M81.

It’s like a Uber-reliable reloadable .22 rim fire pistol.

And yeah, the Beretta M81 really hurts the feelings of the Glock crowd! 12+1 “Quick “ like the old Savage M1907 ads.

The sturdy, full-sized .32 ACPs with 3-1/2" barrels or longer can equal .380 ACP factory ammo payload and velocity.

I have used those as well and they were quite accurate. Luckily, I still have a box of 500 unopened. I am shooting them in an old Walther PP Polzei turn in. 302218

Mine is 2nd year of production, 90 degree safety and a 2 piece firing pin. Many have told me it is too valuable to shoot. I say it would be a crime to deny myself the pleasure of shooting it.

I used 1.9g green dot on mine and they were great.
