Two options shown in .430 diameter,
(1) 44 CAL. 240GR. RNFP; Product Code: MB-44240
(2) 44 CAL. 300GR. FP; Product Code: MB-44-300

Does anyone know, and I've submitted a request to Meister so far with no reply, would either of these bullets be suitable for a 444 Marlin at around 2100-2200fps? Poor pictures, but I don't think either are GC'ed. Both are hard cast. Looking for a decent hunting bullet.

I don;t think you can run either of those bullets as fast as you mentioned. You can do it with jacketed bullets but not cast. I load the caliber and shoot cast and cast, running at about 1600-1700 FPS will kill anything I am hunting. Wallacem inGa

i have used my 444(tc encore with 23" MGM barrel) with a Bull Shop's 275gr ranch dog and a 300gr saeco fn gc.

i haven't used Matts, but i have a 280gr wfn gc that i use for deer. i use rel7 and it goes 1937fps.

I'm with Wallacem, I don't push mine that hard.

The Lee 310 clone with gas check shot amazingly over 13 grains of Red dot.
And just about as well over 10. And again very well over 6.5 (Essentially a .44 mag load in .444marlin brass.

It also shoots the 240 gr mold and 220 gr mold very very well with the same 6.5 gr Red Dot load. And you can shoot all day with no flinch, no sore shoulder.

I like this 280-gr bullet, and have no problem toning down the velocity (https://www.mattsbullets.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70&products_id=213&zenid=etbn03jqpnjl0b8lip339cjdj2). GC'ed so I suppose anything near 1500fps?

i used a 300gr fn gc with 2400/tuft of dacron that goes 1624fps as a deer round. it worked and it was thru-n-thru the rib cage.

That may be way too fast for an un-gas checked boolit. I used an un-gas checked boolit 255 gr. SWC with sabot in my muzzleloaders for elk for years with success at a muzzle velocity of about 1700 and at about 1350 in my 444 for deer.

...and at about 1350 in my 444 for deer.

Can you share that load data please?

444 Marlin

I have the lyman 429667 ( honed out to cast 432 dia)
I found with this bullet I can not seat in the crimp groove.. I have to seat deeper & use the lee FCD

1600 to 2000 Fps should be possible with lead bullets Depending on twist rate of your rifle

you might find slower is more fun
