While Montana does have wind, there isn't a lot of hydro, and the sun is weak in winter!

I can think of 12 hydro plants across the State and two had cold start capacities allowing them to start generating power if there was no other electricity available. That was a well known thing to check for in 1999 Y2K "scare". When I went to work for the States largest utility in 1987, they could generate the western 2/3 of the State with just Hydro and export as well. The coal fired plants were a mix of in-house and export as they regulated price had to be mixed.

The video was touting "clean" energy. And what about transmission of that energy? Where would you site the 'data facilities'? Montana has a long history of a 'boom and bust economy'. Love that Tyvek siding on the houses! Montana is viewed as the source of water for Southern California (recall the Coal Slurry pipeline), those plans are still in place and are getting traction thanks to the 'drought' and the lower CFS for Colorado river drainage.

Here's some 'interesting data': https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/mt/snow/products/Water+Supply/Reservoirs/
