Found a jewel this weekend - a .45ACP Wilson LE Comp built on a 70 series
Colt. The lower is Metalloy and the upper is blue. 30 LPI checkering on the
front of the frame, rear of the slide and mainspring housing. Swenson
ambi safety, Commander hammer, Wilson beavertail, Videki trigger, real Bowmar
rear sight and excellent dovetailed and screwed front sight in the comp.

It has no holster wear (very weird for an IPSC gun!) but shows that it has
been shot a fair bit. Barrel is in excellent condition, all is slick and tight.
All parts except the sear appear to be original to the gun, including the
excellent condition Colt medallion grip panels. Shoots well, adjusted the
sight 5 clicks right and it is dead on at 25 yds with my H&G 68 std load.
I just lightly polished the top of the sear and it breaks at 3 1/2 lbs now.

The best part is that it is a near clone of my old Wilson LE Comp .38
Super competition gun. I had it built in about '86 and it has about 70K
rds thru it, still accurate and nice, Metalloy bottom, blued top, but mine
has noticeable holster wear. Neat to have a nearly matched pair in
.38 Super and .45 ACP. Two tone always looked good to me and the
carbon top seems to run ultra slickly on the Metalloy rails.

For those that don't remember that long ago the "LE Comp" was designed
for Rob Leatham and Brian Enos, the wonder kids of the mid 80s who were
winning everything there was to win for about 10 years. This was THE
gun to have in either caliber and Bill Wilson was still doing some of the
work on them in those days. Now I have both - 24 years late- LOL ! :-)

Wasn't really looking, but couldn't pass it up. You VERY, VERY rarely
see these for sale. A real jewel of workmanship and a piece of shooting
history, too.
