I found a piece of fired plastic and brass combo at the gun range today. I would post pics bit that seem to be beyond my abilities. it is interesting.

It'd help to see a side view, but without it, or the case head stamp--
my first guess is that it is a shot shell for maybe a .38Spec.

The attachment is like a few people I know---- it doesn't work.
But with the picture that won't enlarge, but shows a rimmed case & some sort of head stamp---
I'm sticking with it being from a shot shell.:bigsmyl2:

DAG is a German headstamp. Best thought at this point is that it is some fired German 7.62 NATO practice ammo. It had an aluminum head with primer and the rest was plastic with a metal ball inside the plastic bullet shape. On firing, the bullet shape would fracture off of the case body at the case mouth area and the plastic bullet with metal ball would travel to the target. HK made a modified bolt and carrier to be able to fire these through a G3.

Very interesting. I'd never even heard of it.

Still have some of the blue training rounds. Bullets would stick in the backer boards. Frank
