Double Tap 38 Special + P 158 gr Cast SWC (2020 manufacture)

Was expecting more from both Remington and Double Tap 158 gr 38 Spl +P loads but then again they were tested out of a 357 magnum with its longer chambers…actual fps in a 38 Special chambered revolver may likely be 25 fps faster.

The remington +p looks to be right on what the box predicts. The double tap do look to be a little below the predicted velocity.

I posted some Chrono data on the 44 Mag using 2400 quite some time ago and it was picked to pieces by the experts. I wonder if yours will be?

Those 1st 2 loads have been standard .357Mag Loads in My Family since before I was born, 1954. Ditto for the .38/44 load for S&W M27, Colt OP & SAA. Sent more of these loads down range then I can count.

Thank You for reminding Me of the velocities that I was getting.

I get tighter spreads when using 2400 in 38-44 loads and using the 358429 loaded “short” ( crimped over front edge of first driving band) in 357 cases. I have some new data from today’s chrono session using the 2400 and the 158 gr SWC (Magma mold) BNH 12 in 357 cases and will post under separate thread.
