Yesterday I saw 3 colt 1911s for sale at Scheel's in Springfield Illinois. The first was a 1950 manufacturer government model . Finnish was worn and missing in places and it had Pachymer grips. Price was $699.
Also 2 series 70 government models with faux ivory grips. They looked very clean. Both priced at $799. All guns were in .45 acp. I have no association with Scheel's. Just passing this along for anyone who might be interested.
