NOE 355hp at 1250.
Only recovered one with the hp blown off, the rest were pass through. I did shoot 2 with 1 bullet, maybe that's the one I found?
Anyway 7 pigs down, long days work, but they are all cleaned and in the freezer.

50-50 WW-PB air cooled NOE 355 gc hp. I'll have to check the label, but it was either 2400 or 4227 loaded to around 1250fps.
Got 2 with 1 shot, lol

2 with one shot is good lead conservation. Way to Go! I hunted them years ago in Fl. But there are very few here in S.W. Va.

I think it's a greatly under-utilized caliber. I love my SRH .480

Well done, Lar!

Me too! Sometimes I wish my SRH was a 9.5” and sometimes I am glad it’s a 7.5”

Thank you for that fine writeup and photos ! 7 hogs would be a whole lot of work !
We have a 475 Linebaugh but shoot it more like a 475 Special.
How did the Auto-loader do ? Could that be a be a 1911 in all it's "not good for anything" glory ? Never failed us any.
Arkansas is looking like a favorable place to consider retiring to.

Yep, released them right into the freezer.
The auto was a 40S&W with jhp. They did not penetrate well at all. I used it for the final head shot and it did well there.
There were a couple coming in on the cameras between 1-4am , but never showed when we stayed up for them.

Thank you.... I would think 45 ACP with military ball loads would be somewhat minimum for big hogs.

The 40 was my brother in law's.
My 45 Longslide is loaded with 275 lfn cast @ 950fps. I may have to try it sometime.

I had to look that AO up on Map Quest. Has all the look of "small town America" where we grew up.

I would vote for Apple juice and pineapple fruit from the can for pulled bbq pork!

My brother has a bbq on a trailer, does some big cook outs for friends etc. and he has a repitiore that includes those two additions. There is more to it but the Apple juice and pineapple fruit cooked together are the real deal.

For those who really love the canned pineapple he always has more on the side you can add as you eat the bbq.

Here piggy piggy!

apple sauce is basically...and heres the quick way to do it..peel a couple of apples, remove core, place in dish with only a tiny bit of water and a spoonful of suger, microwave for a couple or three minutes, enough to get it hot and soften enough to mash it up to puree.... taste test...and serve on side either hot or cold....apple baby food in a tin will do in emergency.
