I ran off a couple hundred .357" Lee 158 gr. RF's and a hundred 255 gr. RF's in .452". These were both 2 cavity molds and I used a 10 lb. Lee bottom pour with cedar sawdust flux and straight WW's with a little solder added. The .357"s weighed 159 gr. and measured .359" while the .45's went 256 to 257 grs. and measured .453 to .4535".

I appreciate the info I got here. Lurking and asking questions paid off. Following Lee's simple directions didn't hurt either.

looks good. My first castings did not look that well out of my Lee Mold. Needed to break in.
Looks good.

Thanks gentlemen....I didn't intend to cast very many but the more I cast the lower the rejection rate. I couldn't bring myself to quit. I've been reloading since the early 70's and got into benchrest case prep, neck turning, etc. so am convinced I was over-thinking bullet casting 101. It's sure nice to have a forum like this and a couple of others though......It saves a lot of time and frustration not to have to learn every lesson the hard way.

The next adventure will be to get the above castings to shoot well in the .454's and .357 in the avatar...guns that are proven to be super accurate. I'll start with LLA and 1000 fps and Lee sizers.....have some White Label (BAC, Red and 50/50) on order.
