As military rifles go I have many good cast boolit shooters, mainly 7x57 mm Mauser, 303 British and 8x57 Mauser. The best would have to be my Winchester Model 17 in 30.06 fitted with a Parker-Hale 5C range sight. The manufacturing date on the barrel is 03/17 and the barrel would rate 9+/10 even after many years of shooting cast boolits.

Nothing more relaxing than an afternoon on the range with this 105yo old beauty.

Good shooting there. What you using for a load? I recently got an Eddystone and just starting to cast for it.

I have a Remington just like it. It also is one fine shooter.

I’ve got all 3 of the 1917s my winchester is in 99% condition with every part matching, I’ve been thinking about finding a sporter or a mixmaster 1917 to do that exact same thing too…..now I may have to look harder, I still have 25lbs of 3031 though I don’t have that mold I have a NOE similar…
