Anybody use Red dot powder for their .500 S&W? Most data goes up to 44 mag but generally stops there. Scratching my head.

Seems way too fast for the round to me for anything but plinker loads.

Are you saying, 'most (500S&W Mag) data goes up to 44 mag (levels)' ???
OR
are you saying there is NO data using Red Dot in cartridges larger than 44 Mag ???

If it's the prior, that is because of Pressure.
If it's the later, it's likely because the data publishers have decided it's not an ideal powder for the 500.

I've used Unique in the 500, there was no published data to be found, but Unique is a very forgiving powder for cast boolits. I started with a powder charge that was more typical for 44 Mag, and then worked up until I got to what I wanted for that 500 load. Maybe you could do the same with Red Dot, if you understand Red Dot's characteristics well enough.

The latter and I'm not comfortable experimenting....guess I'll just use my last bottle of titegroup. I also have SR 4759 but that stuff meters terrible. But I have 8 pounds of red dot, lol!
