Had a new roof put on last year and ever since, the new vents in the kitchen and baths have been driving us crazy whenever the wind blows. The drop in pressure from the wind across the vents caused the extremely light tin flaps/doors to open and close continuously, clanking with every gust. Decided to try some boolits glued to the top of the flaps and voila, worked like a charm. A 125 grain boolit wasn't quite enough so I added a 102 grain also. The two are perfect and will allow the doors to open when the fans are on but they won't budge in 30+ MPH gusty winds. So who else has found another use for cast boolits other than punching paper?

I have cast 500g and heavier bullets with a wire loop in the mold and used the for bank weights for fishing in the river.

I cut 2 and used them on the wind chimes that lost the holder. Use 1 onder the well pressure switch to keep pump off when not in use. Cant just cut power cause it’s tied in on circuit with other stuff in barn.

I've got a few in my minnow bucket.
They help it fill with the bottom down instead of float laying on its side.

I've found 73 caliber shotgun slugs are perfect for adding weight to a wood stock, since most butt stock holes are 3/4".

I think pworley1's idea is genius. I've been known to drill holes in existing bullets, but this would be a nice way to do it.

One last trick is you can pound bullets flat with a hammer, and use that as a flat weight to wrap around stuff like a hose.

I made some hold down weights for wood work with them. Arrange them in 3 or four rows and 10 wide. Cover with hot glue so you aren't touching lead when using them.

Balancing weights for many things, including model airplanes and ballast in model boats.

Shot, especially in larger sizes is also good. I used a bunch of #4 until I ran out.

Boolits, weighed individually and collected together in a weighed container, have become calibrated 1-pound (7000 grain), 2-pound (14000 grain), and when used together 3-pound (21000 grain) counterweights for my old school "one quarter ounce" increment balance beam. I often weigh packages of freezer-wrapped meat (for a night's dinner) on the old scale. When I was selling, I "counted" brass cases (by weight) and alternatively "counted" boolits (by weight) on the old scale.

WC's and SWC's are routinely used for "slug-fit" measuring of barrels and revolver chamber dimensions.

I've made bell clappers, door stops, and interesting Lee Drip-O-Matic "figures" - an art form taken by some on Castboolits to extraordinary heights.

I've pounded a couple flat and use them to hold the flint in my flintlock.

Innovation! GOTTA love it!
In my teens, I "fixed" the antenna on my Dad's truck with the addition of a lead-filled .223 casing to the antenna well. Static gave way to clear sounds of the local (Dallas) "50,000 watt blowtorch" AM station. He was pleasantly surprised.
"Get me a rifle that shoots .30-06, and I'll tune in St. Louis, for you!" I proclaimed.

I used to cast all sizes of round ball to sell in my store. The failures I sold as Pb for casters. (Why remelt them to make ingots?) Word got around to the scout troops, so when pinewood derby time came around each year I would sell a couple of pounds for balancing weights.

I’m disgusted, you should have used a zinc wheelweight out of spite.

I have used 158gr boolits to add weight to 3D printed parts for use around the house.
