Does anyone use this mould with wheel weight alloy? Im thinking of getting one and wondering what size people are getting from it.

I can't speak to that mold but my other RCBS molds, some throw undersize and some over. Kinda like Lyman you have to throw the dice.
Now I just use Accurate molds, no more guessing.

I use that mold and love it for my 32-20's.....except the Marlin '89 with a slightly rough bore. You know, I've never measured it but I do know a .313 sizing die just barely touches it. Bear in mind that's my mold. Others can and will be different.

Mine drops at .313-.314. I used to size .314, but now shoot as cast and tumble lube.

Thanks fellas. All my current rcbs moulds drop 1-3 thou over but was wondering if the .32 does too. I have an H&R with throats at .315.

I use the RCBS 98 grain SWC mold for 32 H&R magnum and also to make plinker boolits in 7.62x39. Using wheel weight alloy it drops boolits around .313" I powder coat and size them to .3125" This is an excellent and accurate boolit. If your firearm needs a .315" boolit you can always build up the diameter by powder coating. I'd recommend Smoke's signal blue as it can easily add .002" to the diameter if needed. I use this powder to bump up 30 caliber boolits to shoot in 7.65x53 and it has worked great.

After years of being the neglected stepchild of the revolver world, the 32s are really getting some well-deserved attention with a good number of bullet moulds to choose from. I haven't gotten to the RCBS offering yet, but word on the street is, it is a good one. Between the offerings of the mainline manufacturers and the talented crop of specialty mould makers, we have a wealth of choices. Alfadan, please keep us apprised on your results with the RCBS offering. None of us can get (and find time to try out) all of them. :castmine:

My new RCBS 452-255 swc drops them at about 457. Good mold though, easy to make nice boolits with and they go through the lube sizer just fine.

Greetings,

Spent the day casting with all my 32 moulds to find out what diameter and weight they produce.

RCBS 32-84-WC 0.313" @ 79 grains

RCBS 32-98-WC 0.315" @ 93.5 grains

RCBS 32-98-SWC 0.315" @ 93.5 grains

For reference, I used LinoType metal for casting.

Cheers,

Dave

Mine gets WW and 0.313" die barely touches the edges.

Received this mould from midway yesterday. As usual, I'm very pleased with this RCBS product; warmed up and cast great with no sticking. Surprisingly drops at .3165-.317 and 104gr. from my wheel weight alloy. Also surprisingly I had already purchased a .314 sizing die that I forgot about, but it sizes to .3152 so just the combo I needed.

This is a great looking bullet. Now to repair the crummy H&R 732 to shoot these. I hope to get a much nicer .32 someday.299338

Don't worry, alfadan. If they don't work out for you just send them to me and I'll size them down to .313 and dispose of them for you through my stable of 32s. I'm sure at least one of them will love them!

If you'd like to adopt a 32 build, I can probably help you out there as well. These S&Ws just keep following me home. ;)
