Slug the barrel if you can. The closer the fit the better. I would at least go .430

These won't just be for my gun..,considering selling them...so what would be most common?

There are liabilities for selling bullets (not loaded ammo) and a federal permit required from what I have read.

.430 would be most common.

It's easier to make the bulllet smaller after the fact than it is to make it larger from a smaller bullet. A little bigger in this case is always better. Plus the fact that you can shoot a slightly larger bullet as long as it chambers ok. And like already stated it will usually need to be 430 or even larger.

I have a variety of .44 Specials and .430" works perfectly in ALL of them. All four of them will group under 1" at 25 yards (one at a time:mrgreen).

I would size the boolit as large as your revolver throats are or a maximum of .002" over the barrel groove diameter. I have a S&W 629 at the cylindersmiths right now having the cylinder throats reamed and honed to .431 from .428". I size my 44 boolits to .431". Good luck!
