Balls arrived yesterday for the muzzleloading double rifle and after I got my chores and errands finished I retired to my bench to try it out. I'm still a bit in awe and more than happy. Keep in mind the distance was only 30 yards but I don't expect much change out to about 75 yards. I didn't write it on the target but the patch was .025 cotton. I'll let the picture talk...and yes, there IS 4 holes in the center target.

WOW!!! Thank you for sharing, that is extremely impressive!!!! Can you imagine the skill set the fella had to have had to regulate those barrels??

Thanks cwt. I'm still in awe...but grinnin' like a Cheshire cat at the same time. I have NEVER had a double regulate with the first load out of the gate.

I've read about how they regulate the barrels and evidently it was a matter of adjusting the wedge, soldering them together and shooting them. Then try it again. It's that knowing how to adjust the wedge where the magic lays. It is assuredly beyond my pay grade!!

I sat and watched a double being regulated at Holland and Holland's shop once 20+ years ago. It does appear to be a sprinkling of sorcery, and stupid amounts of meticulous work and knowledge.

Oh wow...I'd give my eye teeth to witness that.

Would be so much fun to take an elk or other big game animal with that masterpiece.

That's the hope, HW. I'd be tempted to try it on a hog. There's a great big "behind the fence" outfit maybe 15 miles from that's a little tempting.

Nice work Sharps! That'll work for boar I am sure. Did you chrono that load? Do you have a picture of that one? Good luck with it, Squid boy

Thank you squid. No sir, those were the first 8 rounds I fired but, the chronograph is on the itinerary. Uhhhh....no, not by itself, yet and, the Guns International ad has been removed. I have one with my other double rifles, it is the bottom one.

Thanks squid. They are a joy to own and shoot, especially the bottom two as they're both BP. One is 11.15 X 60R and of course the bottom one is the muzzleloader.

I'd say it shoots as good as it looks!

I stand corrected, squid. The ad for the rifle is still available in this thread. Their pictures are hands down better than any I could possibly take.
