I've been busy with life but this evening after sunset I was able to squeeze in some 40 yard shooting. With the 30-06, the 5 shot group on the left is the C309170F over 26grs of IMR 4198 and the group on the right is the C309150F over 8grs of Red Dot. Both bullets are pc'd and sized to .309". Primers are 1970's vintage R-P 9-1/2M ( Hey, use what you got...) I knew when I pulled the flyer on both groups.
And the bull was hard to see - so I make no apologies for the 44-40 with the FF3. Minute of meat group! .429" 200gr Lee FN over 9grs of Unique. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220327/204c0a0844d76f61f18d0861dfb5f683.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220327/04603200c275b7d0b0d7cbeba7c859f5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220327/ee879b59b04b066fc108dd547a28a4c4.jpg

I'm pleased with these 100yd groups- especially since the wind was gusting 20mph.
This dog will hunt, sure having fun with the 30-06!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220417/372e2d809298831e25b78108a618c5e2.jpg

Man you have to love Red Dot. "C309170F over 26grs of IMR 4198 and the group on the right is the C309150F over 8grs of Red Dot"

1/3 the cost and just as effective at short range, quieter, less recoil, and good accuracy through a wide range of loads.

3 grains on most calibers is just about a perfect plinking round. If you want a little more snort go up to 4.5 or 4.6 gr.

I've shot many a round from 2 grains all the way up to 13gr.
