NOE 452-238-HP-AA5 and Unique for 45acp

Recently got this mold from NOE and cast some, then powder coated. Data I’ve found online for similar weight bullets call for 6.0gr of Unique, much more than the 4.8 I have been loading with Lee 200gr cast bullets. I was thinking about sticking with 4.8 or maybe 5.0 as a start load. Should be safe, right?

The load with 6.0 grs. Unique is a heavy hunting load , cast the boolits soft and get some expansion with the hollow point . Maybe not something you would shoot a bunch of at the range ...
This load will pound both shooter and gun .

4.8 grs will be a much more pleasant range load . if you don't get 100% cycling with this load go up to 5.0 grs. This will not pound you and be pleasant to shoot at the range .

My "pet" 45 acp load , general purpose all around use , mid range load is 5.2 grs. Unique and a cast 200 gr. SWC ( Lyman # 452460)

That NOE boolet with a nice hollow point is a good one ...don't cast hard if you want expansion , 1 part tin / 20 parts lead (1/20) will be just right and with the powder coat you will be good .
