Since alot of people have a old school computer and a laptop or 2
A land line telephone,200 channels on cable and 1000 dollar smart phone

That's cool. In addition to all the other things they can replace, I hear they make a pretty decent cutting board too.:bigsmyl2:
Just don't put it in the dishwasher.

You're doing fine.

I had to smile at your post. We received in the mail a notice that our ancient flip phones will soon not have service due to our providing company getting rid of the support for the ancient technology. So we went to the store to get new phones. Again we wanted flip phones. I told the gent that we don't need data or text with them. I further told him that when someone calls me on it I never pick up. Why? Because I don't need what they're selling. Thanks, but I'm aware of my auto warranty, I did NOT spend any time at your vacation retreat and don't want to now, yada, yada. I also see the phone as a leash and I don't carry or wear a leash. I call out on it, that's it. Friends know not to call me on it. There have been times where someone left a message and I didn't get it until weeks later. If I need to ditch it get rid of the tracking I lose very little.

While you don't really need to be that disconnected from the internet at large, I'd recommend to stay off of all manner of mainstream social media because I swear those places are more designed to drive people apart than bring them together.

I can take the laptop up to Lowe’s and set in their lot and use the net.

We have Verizon, they are dropping all 3g phones. So, we had an iPhone 4 that they turned off. We started using an iPhone 7 that was my moms. It’ll work this forum where as the former would not.

We give 30 a month to use the phone and associated internet it provides. The landline was $55 before we dropped it. And folks will say a cellphone isn’t as cheap as a land line. BS, it’s half the cost.

With what? He says he doesn't have a computer of any kind, and has only had a tablet since Christmas. I just think it is bizarre that someone on the internet since at least 2007, is claiming to not have a computer or internet.

I went a long time just using my friends internet. We’d go over there every couple days. That with the Lowe’s, and we made it. If our phone didn’t give us internet we’d do the same.

Lose the tracking? Maybe, maybe not. What make and model of car are you driving? Does it have a NAV unit?

Ok, let me get this straight.A tablet is a PC without a slot for CDs or SD card right? If this is a computer why can't I post pics here. Guess I have alot to learn about the capabilities of this gadget.

You can. You just upload to an image hosting site like Imgbb.com. You then copy and paste the image link to your post, and you posted a picture.

Good point. They have the tech to shut my car down too.

Our new car needs to have a smart phone hooked up to it for navigation but it shows speed limit changes instantly as we pass the signs so it still has gps. I understand that it also has a data recorder much like aircraft. There is no privacy.

A high-tech hillbilly is one who has a garage full of monochrome monitors that are just too good to throw away.

Maybe the pics are too large?
Maybe install a app on your tablet, so you can reduce the size?

I answer your question with questions, since I have never owned or used a tablet.

OK, now a comment about the living in the stone age and technology.
My answer is real simple.
Use technology to improve your life, and DON'T let technology run your life.

Amen, Brother! I have a laptop, desktop, tablet, and smartphone from the low-end of the scale. It was $179 new when I bought it a couple of years ago. Motorola Moto G7 Supra. A bit over 6" long and 3" wide, about 5/16" thick. Has one microSD card slot that will take up to a 500gb card. I have something like 12000 books of fiction, and around 400gb of metalworking and firearms-related materials on that card. The tablet has a nearly identical card on it, as well. Heck of a lot easier to carry than a pile of books with all that material on it. ;) I use the tablet at school to read blueprints for stuff I'm making there. It's one of the 8" Samsung tablets, with 16gb of built in storage, and the card slot that takes 500gb cards as well. Looked at the newer version, with 64gb built in storage, they want $379 at Sam's Club. I'll wait until it's down to $100, like the one I have now was. Was a time in my life when I really wanted the latest and best in tech. That was a lifetime ago. What I want now is reliable. What I have now may outlive me. ;)
