These little shells are my main starling killers around the yard, and I was getting very low on them. Hadn't had much success finding them until just the other day when I checked again a Midway.

The price sucks, but I loaded up with 500 of the Long version. Same power as the short -- 710 fps. They are pretty deadly out to around 25-30 yards. Way better than the cheap springers I've got around here.

Less noise than an air rifle.

Is your Starling rifle a Stevens #26 Crackshot?

Thanks for the heads up, picked up a box with the rest of my order. As you mention they are hard to find. In the past I'd hit shows to get 22 ammo. Only way to find a decent selection (or was).

They and CCI Quiets have been steadily available on CCI's website direct, along with several other 22 loads. Free shipping with a purchase over $100 unless that has changed. Some loads seem to some in and out of stock.

Yeah, that rifle is a Crackshot. It's got the little Savage arms logo on it which I think dates it at post 1916. The bore on it is pristine, and it flat shoots. Acton is a little loose, but I've got plans for that. jd
