Hi-skor 800x powder-any rifle data?

I was given some 800x powder. Never used it before, but with the current component situation, would like to find some data for rifle loads. I have found data for shotgun and pistol, but nothing for rifle. I was wondering if anyone has seen any rifle data with cast bullets. Seems to be one of the slower shotgun powders, but still might be suitable for some rifle calibers. Or not? Anybody tried it?

I used it years back in 375 H&H for reduced lead loads. There wasn't any listed loads, I used 700X data from Lyman, IIRC, and bumped it a few grains. Being slower burning I felt it would work, and it did.

If you're using it in a 30-06 maybe bump it 2 grains above 700X, if 30-30 maybe 1 grain for trials.

Like I said it's been awhile but I think it shot just over 1 1/2" at 100 yds thru a Rem 700. 4 five shot groups at 100 yards.

Though not necessarily rifle, it works good for 9&10mm and 44 magnum.

I just treat it like somewhat fast Blue Dot for charge weights, shoot over a chronograph and see where I'm at. Start low and work up of course. 30% of available case capacity is plenty safe, and don't go over 50%.

I love 800-X in various pistol loads. I just read the other day that Hodgdon had discontinued 800-X in 2020. I wish I had bought an 8 pound jug when I could. Many hate the flake powder because it doesn't meter well, but it works great in a Lee Perfect powder measure. Enjoy it!

GONRA uses 800X for .45 ACP 1928 Thompson SMG loads -
but has to carefully weigh every powder charge.

After looking at burn rates, some educated guessing, and starting low and working up I got a few plinking loads( I was hoping for 1200-1300fps) for 30-30 and 30-40. The bullet is a 175gr plain base cast from coww air cooled. In 30-30, 7 1/2gr gave around 1225fps with very good accuracy. In the 30-40, 8 1/2gr gave around 1250fps with only fair accuracy. I need to shoot some more, since a couple 3 shot groups don't tell you a lot about a load. It's 20* and snow squalls today, with a couple inches on the ground, so I won't be shooting more for a few days at least.

I used it in a 375Winchester with good results.

265 grain gas checked bullet with 13.4 grains 800x, and a Wolf Large Pistol primer==1432fps, SD=9 for six shots fired.

I got it for handgun loads myself but it worked good in the 700 375 H&H. I would not be adverse to using it in others, keeping it on the mild side.

It shines in the 40S&W and 10mm, but works in about everything. It just does not meter well in most powder dispensers. Interestingly enough, I do not hand weigh it, and my Standard Deviations are low.

Scoops are a great way to measure flake powders ...
I thought I was the only one who dipped !

Lyman Cast Bullet Manual 4th edition seems to have a fair amount of 800X load data in it .

I have fired thousands of rounds of 30-30 and 357 cast loads with 800x. Very good results. It's slower than unique, so unique loads should be very safe. It also seems to work well with mild barely supersonic loads. I have not used with jacketed bullets. Lee dippers! I have a five year supply.
