I have a couple hundred 215 grain 358627s on hand. Powders I have in abundance are WSF, PowerPistol, Blue Dot and Longshot. Load data for a bullet like this in .38 or .357 revolver cartridges are almost non-existent, of course.

The LASC page on this bullet has none of these powders. Per that source, I loaded a few with 8 grains of AA#7, which were nicely accurate, but perhaps just a bit spicier than what I want to shoot a lot of in my S&W 19-3, and I also want to save the #7 for other projects.

I'm interested in something that isn't too dirty and comes in just somewhere over the .38 +P range, around the level of a typical medium-powder .357 starting load or a little lower, which would appear to mean 25,000 PSI or a bit under.

My WAG is that 4 grains of WSF might be in the ballpark. Thoughts? Anyone have Quickload, and can it even handle this bullet in .357?

This bullets heyday preceded all of those powders except Blue Dot. Quickload or older powders is your best bet. I have shot that out of the 357 Mag and Max with 2400, H110/296 and WC 820. It does best for me with near max loadings. A max load for this in a Blackhawk or Contender should be scaled down for a Model 19 IMO.

From the Lyman Pistol and Revolver Handbook #2. I doubt you will be able to load these to the full 1.680" OAL. According to Quickloads, for what that is worth, to maintain the same calculated pressure, 1.600" OAL max would be 7.8gr, 1.64" OAL, max would be 8.3gr.
