Ok, who here ordered some from Gator?

the 6.5's.

How did they work?

What mould were you using with them?

I'd like some feed back to be able to pass on the info.

I did some testing in the early stages of development for Larry on the 6.5's, after making some changes the second samples were real good. I tried them on Lyman 266469, Saeco 264 and the 129gr GB Lee 6 cav, Larry's checks fit all very good, seating and crimping them with a H&I, a Saeco sizer and a home made push thru die, @ .265 and .266 Ø all checks crimped tight
I ordred and received 3000 in the last GB and Larry sent me another 1000 for helping him but I have not had the time to send any down a 6.5 barrel.

Comparing Larry's checks to hornday's, the differences are material thickness(expected) and the radi on the OD @ the base. Which I don't think will make any difference in how they will preform.

When I get the time to send some down a 6.5 barrel I'll report back.

I beleave all is good in Gater Check Land

I used some on the Lyman 266469 and the Lee 170gr special order bullet available here:
http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=000066.5SWED

The Gators worked fine. I lubed both through first a .268" Lyman 450 die, then a .266" die. I shot them in a rebarreled fast twist 6.5x54. As I had been told here, 6.5's shot well up to a certain velocity, above which they flew wild. I believe the velocity was about 1600 fps.

The differences between them and the Hornady's are as mentioned.

Blammer,

I had some of the first batch that fit too loosely but didn't see any of the second batch.
