What kind of lapping compound do you all recommend for lapping in bolt lugs?

I use a yellow diamond lapping compound. JUst a very light amount with a very light drop of oil added to it to finish. No new diamond just the drop of oil to it. Sorry I cant tell you the grit or concentration off hand. The labels gone from my tube.

I always used 220 grit Clover compound.

I bought a set of Clover compounds years ago, has from 120 to 800 grit. I would use something on the course side first, then finer to finish off. If you don't have access to clover compounds, you can usually find valve grinding compound at auto parts store, and Flitz should be at a hardware store. Those are kind of each end of the grit scale, but they will work.

Arrowhead Lapidary has quality diamond in lots of sizes, dry or paste.

The "diamond" I got from amazon, not so good.
