Went to a gun show this past weekend and bought a 1974 Single Six.
Seller assured me it was 22LR, Not 22 Mag. He was in a wheel chair, very friendly so I didn't doubt him.
Well, his memory must be failing as it has a magnum cylinder. A little to much power for my grandson. So I'm looking for a 22LR cylinder for this. Condition not important as the gun is missing bluing and pitted. Thanks for looking.

I think Ruger would be your best bet. Years ago they would fit a spare cylinder to a single six revolver. Not sure if they still will. At least that is my memory, james

Check these guys out. I believe they have what you want. I’m almost in the same boat. Found a single six locally the is missing the LR cylinder. Checked with Ruger and they wouldn’t give me a price without a serial #.

Good luck and let us know how you make out. Website says about $100 for a custom made cylinder.

Thanks for the responses. I read Ruger is over 200.00 to get one and fitted. I will try the aftermarket if I have to.

In general,, if you get a Ruger made cylinder,, it'll time just fine. The biggest thing to look for is the OAL of the cylinders. Take the one in the gun currently,, measure the OAL. (Measure from the back of the ratchet,, to the front of the cylinder boss.) THEN,,, look for one the same length,, or a few thousands longer. You can hone off a few thousands. I buy spare Ruger cylinders all the time when I can find them at a fair price. And yes,, you should be able to find one well under $200.

Look at BRC. Gives you 10 shots instead of 6. I have two and they both work perfectly.

Those 10 round cylinders are interesting, thin chambers tho. Have to retrain the brain and not leave 4 live rounds in the cylinder.

If you change to the 8 or 10 cylinders, the pawl must be changed to modify the timing.
