I found this really cool. They did a big pour. 8 Tons.

Seeing the lead flow like that gives a good impression of whats happening in a mould on a smaller scale. seeing it flow and solidify along the front edge then remelt and flow again. Then when they were topping it off with the dipper it would flow in and reappear up from under the surface a little ways away.

I really wonder how long that took to cool out with that much mass. We got mish metal in to die cast at work molten 50,000 lbs in a big pot on a flat bed semi and it made the 4 hour trip arriving molten still.

Watching them put huge chunks in the molten pot made me ponder what wonders the Tinsel Fairy could have wrought.
