Buddy from over on another site pm'ed me and said he found a bunch of .223 brass while cleaning his shed. Said it was kinda dingy but if I wanted it he'd ship it to me free of charge. Well can never have enough brass right [emoji16] ended up with proy100 or so pieces ,My Lil harbor freight wet tumbler cleaned em up pretty quick like. Best thing is their all the same PMC head stamp [emoji16] wish I had some more capacity though, ended up having to do two loads in the tumbler https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220213/67b9b3eedfacc8a2e28648cd16982c1f.jpg

Both congrats on your having such a good buddy AND it looks as if you and your HF tumbler did a fine job restoring the brass to "looks like new!" condition. As a note, some years back I was fortunate enough to glean '06 brass after a training day's shoot -- e.g., a bucket full -- and rather quickly learned that doing relatively small batches of tumbling was ever so much more productive than when I maximized/stuffed the tumbler! In addition to getting a better final product using smaller loads, I reckoned too, that with less weight to turn the motor's life would be extended. Not a bad option.

Right you can never have enough brass. Clean it and store it. I have buckets of 223 and no use for it. LOL

I have become spoiled by my polisher. I got one of the big Franklin Arsenal wet tumblers when Midway was having a really nice deal on them and it does nice work. Once you get the lids tightened just right so it doesn't leak it is trouble free. All my backlog 06 brass looks new now. even some WWII vintage. All my 45 brass is clean and nice, about half of my 9mm brass has a nice shine and so on. I found out you don't put 45 brass in with 30-06 brass because they will mate together and not get clean inside. Same with 9mm and 223 brass. Clean shiny brass does not shoot better but it sure looks nice.

Can never have to much brass. I picked up everything I could find. Never know when you will need em.

PMC brass is pretty good stuff and the range I shoot at has lots of shooters who don't reload. The PMC I have weigh sorts a bit heavier than W-W or even Lake City. I just started wet tumbling after 40 yrs of dry media polishing and aside from the ultra bright finished produce, I don't have to clean crud out of the primer pockets.

After many years of using vibratory tumblers, I broke down and bought a Thumblers Tumbler. The difference is night and day. The vibratory tumblers do a real good job on the outside of the case but the wet system makes the case shine like new inside and out, including the flash hole. I go out of my way to find dirty brass just to have an excuse to use the tumbler. james

Tumblers work best for me when they're about 60% full.

Sometimes I run mine out in the shop instead of listening to the radio.
