I have an old Lyman -Ideal 2 cavity mold that is in excellent condition but needs a spruce plate. This mold needs a plate with hole spacing of .45 as opposed to the new molds which have a hole spacing off .55. The Lyman rebuild kits have the new spacing. Any one know where I can obtain a plate with the proper spacing?

I haven't seen one made from Spruce, most are made from steel.

You have to call Lyman direct for that one. They do still make and sell them, but they aren’t listed in the website.

Well, if Red River Rick hasn't PM'd you about his excellent Lyman DC sprue plates, I'll vouch for them. I have several and they are excellent. Better than Lyman makes. His mold handles are awesome too.

The old sprue plate spacing is about .480" and part number 2998331.

It has been a while since I entered that note in my book. Please verify when you order it.

I made one out of Knotty Pine and it looked good ...
Old Turtle ... If you get me the Spruce I'll carve the plate ! :kidding:

Red River Rick can fix you up with a sprue plate better than Lymans , see if you can PM him.
