Was wondering what other caliber can a .22 long rifle on a Stevens falling block be changed to? Thanks for the opinions.

Is it a Crack Shot, Ideal, or Favorite?

I would say no - other than maybe 32 RF or a light 32 S&W or 25 ACP (which would of course necessitate a firing pin change)but I expect someone far more knowledgeable than I will be along shortly to help you also .

Check with an outfit like Redman's Rifling & Reboring , they reline , rebore and rifle barrels .
If yours can't be easily / safely rebored they can reline it and thus restore it's 22 LR barrel .
A .17 rimfire might be an option if relined .
Check them out at www.redmansrifling.com and see what they can do for your Favorite .

Mostly trying to attract more attention to your thread, but I think the likely opinion is going to be nothing more than .22lr. The Favorite is too lightly designed for even the smallest centerfires. They have a hard enough time not getting loose with .22.

Might try the singleshot subforum for more answers.

My Favorite struggles with modern 22 LR. I actually don't think that I personally would trust mine (or my face) to much over 22 Long or downloaded 22 LR - like Colibri or similar.

Strange; they made the Favorite in several iterations of RF. I have a 25RF I'm getting ready to re-barrel into 22LR. Lots of excellent info over on ASSRA.COM if anyone is interested. As far as relocation of the firing pin, you might get luck an get a strike on 22LR without any alterations.
