The past few days I happened to be at Walmart and Sportsmans Warehouse. Surprised to see the ammo shelves well stocked. But the prices were quite step. For example, Aquila Colabri 50 pack - $7.95!
But at least if one really needs ammo it there.

my various Walmarts have some random rifle and a few 12g shells. Nothing else.

I remember when i first started reloading. Would buy a bunch of factory ammo just to get the brass so I could reload. Not any more.....

Stopped by the LGS and was surprised at how full the shelves were. However, prices were ridiculous...

I've wandered into a few of the small LGS's in town and they are stocked but as IdahoGuy says, prices are still ridiculous.

Big box stores don't have much ammo and their prices are even more ridiculous for what they do have.

Those Colibri have always been a bit more expensive than standard flavor around here. They sure are fun though! I like to keep a few boxes on hand especially for new shooters to work up from. Hard to get much quieter or gentler than those.

There must be quite a bit out there. My neighborhood sounds like we are surrounded by multiple fire fights every Saturday. I like it.

7.95 for a box of colibri is the pre crazy price around here. I wish they were still 1.50 a box too I use to shoot them in my basement air rifle range there a lot quieter than most air guns.

Checked my local Sportsman's, and they have a LOT of it. Sadly the prices are rather astronomical, hence the full shelves...couldn't get over the asking prices for 22LR and 22 Mag

Aguila Super Extra 22 LR was $4.65/50 yesterday at Academy. I'm not needing any so ya'll have at it. Right next to those; Norma Tac22 at $10/50. The Aguila ammo is just as good by my target's tale.

All I want are small pistol primers and some Unique. I'm sure I could fine both online, but am in no hurry and will wait until they show up locally.

Same here. Would usually pick up several hundred at to get me started.

I lucked into a sleeve of SPPs at a reasonable price but I have been hunting Unique for some time with no success. I got an in stock notification a couple weeks ago but it was too late by the time I saw it. I’d like to put a jug into inventory.

Gary,

Last year when things seemed to be at the height of insanity regarding the cost of all things ammunition related, I walked out to my little shop one evening and just stood there and looked. I concluded that at that moment, I really have saved money reloading. I know exactly how you feel my friend.
