Well my first question would have to be can you safely do a pound cast on as a AR or AK and second would cerosafe just be better?

Wolfdog, unless you can secure the breech from recoiling while making the pound cast I don't see how it would be successfully done. Since the breech area of both weapons is easy enough to access, I'd have to vote for cerrosafe.

Cerrosafe, then you have a permanent record of the chamber. Pounding soft lead into a chamber to get dimensions doesn’t seem to the best way ,OK for a barrel don’t see it as accurate method for anything else .
Do wax with Johnson’s paste wax for a mould release everything, remove as much that might hinder a good straight pour into the chamber, use a small stack of patches a few inches into the barrel as a stop.

Next time you have the casting pot hot, fill a couple of cartridge cases up to halfway up the neck to put in the chamber for your pound cast.

I use garden sulpher. Cheap and doesn't shrink.
