The "failure to feed" 1st round is common on tightly fitted 1911s when releasing the slide with the release. Normally pulling the slide back to the stop and releasing works. It is a break in issue a few rounds smooths the sharp edges and release so it works 100%. Expect with break in a smoother feeling pistol even better cycling and improved accuracy as it works in together and mating surfaces come together.

The "waves" in he frames finish are more than likely from the final polish operation than the mill cutting. Stainless is rough to get to polish even and a little loading or uneven compound will cause this. A soft cotton cloth with a little simichrome backed by a small block may blend these out.

The safety and the slide stop appear to be gray--is this just a trick of the camera or are they "painted" with ceracote or some similar covering? That is a very nice looking pistol. I'm not a 1911 kind of guy, being more of a revolver type, but I could see me buying one.

I have one in 45, I’ve been pleased with mine.

It was very sternly imprinted on me over forty years ago that piece is called a slide stop, not a slide release.

I bought this when they first became available up here (2017). Mine came with 2 magazines. It continues to be a tack driver for a 9mm and I'm quite pleased with it.

I have two of them, both stainless, in 38 Super and 45 ACP. Excellent trigger pulls and exceptional accuracy.

...also have one in stainless in .38 Super...could not be happier...everything one needs and nothing one doesn't.

Have a Colt 9x23 Winchester barrel that Colt was selling off many years ago...dropped right in and runs like a top. One day I'll pick up a 9mm barrel and and the set will be complete...
