I posted on this forum 1-12-22 about getting a new hip, and feeling much better overall. That was two weeks ago when I had the surgery on the 10th. My PT specialist and I had set some goals, one of them was to be walking with one crutch or cane, fairly steady by the end of February, That was for steadying my right leg which is mostly paralyzed. I have had several churches, and friends, on here and at home, praying for me. 6 months ago the docs said I would be on crutches the rest of my life. I made a pact with God, that this was my cross to bear, so be it. I never lost faith for one minute. 3 months later on a follow up with the infectious disease docs, my infection/inflamation markers had dropped from 115, to below 10. We got the surgery, and my pain was immediately eased greatly, by 75 % or more. Saturday I was able to walk thru the house, with one crutch, Sunday I walked out the walk to my shop and back, the same way, walking better than I had in 5 years. Today I was in the PT office waiting for them to call me back. When I got to the doorway leading into the big open room, I told the therapists watch this. I took my left crutch off my harm and caught it in my hand, held it by my side, and with the right crutch barely touching the floor, I walked the 100ft back to my machines i would be using. You could have heard a pin drop, all 5 therapists were standing there with their mouths hung open. One of them openly asked how, you could barely get up from the chair last Friday. I looked around and in a serious tone said" When the hand of God touches you, anything is possible". I give all credit where it is due, to God above, for healing my broken body, in nothing short of a miraculous time. The owner and head of the PT facility, said the same thing, a miracle. And my right leg, which had been numb, and with the foot drawn back and out, is also working very well, 10X better than a week ago, had not been this good since I had the 3 strokes i n 2017. I wanted to share this with you all, as a testimony to Gods greatness, and because someone on here might need to hear this also.

That is excellent news...God answers prayer. I had both of my hips replaced five years ago, and it is hard to explain the difference it made in my life.

I had THR on Jan 10th as well.
i asked the surgeon how it went.
He says "perfect".
I had a sandwich and coffee in the recovery room.
I walked 300+ ft, with my walker, and climbed 6-7 stairs.
I checked in the hospital at 5:30am and was home by 2pm. I live 30 miles away.
I was driving in 8 days.
it is going so well i have to remember the Drs instructions and not overdo myself.

I have question for you guys that have had hip surgery.
How easy is it to dislocate a hip after surgery?
How long does it generally take before you don't have to worry about dislocating a hip?

I think my paperwork says it will be hard to dislocate the hip after 6 months.

Praise God for the good report, and I follow these proceedings closely, due to the announcement by my chiropractor that I'm about 4 years from hip replacement myself. He tells me my left hip is bone on bone, so it's not going to get better. When mine happens, I'm praying for the same kind of report!

Thanks for all the kind responses, ar 4 weeks in, my incision is gone, just a faint scar line, I am walking with one cane daily, walked thru a gun show last weekend 3 times, and 60 yds to the truck and back. I am like a kid at Christmas, with every step I take I cherish it. I walked the 125 yds to my barn and back, and am starting to think turkey season in 8 weeks might be doable this spring. I am able to do so many things I could not do for the past year and a half. Done making plans for a big garden.
