Pick out and get your own.
It saves them the trouble of getting it their self.

And if there is a problem with it- missing parts, broken in shipping, etc.-- its on you.
As they are leaving,,,,, with only billing for the initial pull up/service call:
They'll tell you to call them back when you get it right.

It depends on the contractor . I would ask your electrician that question some do not mind some will not install it if they don't supply the fixture. Mostly because of the quality . They do not want the headache if the product is junk . I know I have owned a plumbing heating company for 40 years. Good luck

If I was bidding on a new house I put labor in to install their fixture. If it was a commercial building I preferred to supply the fixture. The fixtures from a supplier were usually better quality than those from a big box store.

Ask the electrician when you call them.

Ask the electrician. His product knowledge and where to buy should more than make up for his profit margin. If he's good.

I’d guess most all bathroom light fixtures from Amazon, or big box outlets were born in China. Probably the same goes for fixtures supplied by electricians. If your electrician supplies the fixture will he replace it if it fails at no cost to you? Maybe, if you hired him to replace all your fixtures, probably not if it’s a one fixture job.
Electrician comes over or emails a catalog of fixtures for your selection. You (or your spouse) selects one. He picks it up, then comes over and installs it. He has to charge something for his running around time too.
I’d buy the fixture myself (with plastic) and have him install. You’ll have a warranty with the fixture and a credit card company to complain to if the manufacturer won’t back their product.

Gonra,

Where are you located? Someone local to you might be able to help.

Good luck finding light fixtures NOT made in china. Sounds like an under-the-counter style unit. If you can't install it, might get Lowes or H-D to do it. Most elec. shops have gone out of business as house calls are more than the cost of the job.

I let my customers pick the light they can live with. If it requires a bunch of work to make it work, I let them know before I start. I've had to put up lights so the customer can pick the right color for the walls/ceiling and then have to remove and reinstall around the painter. Whatever makes them happy, write the check and call the next time things change.
