I'm not a powder coat guy, but I was thinking about doing a run with some .30cal in brown.

We were talking on other threads about the hassle we get at the range for shooting cast.
I do too.
The comments go from 'Wow. That's cool', to 'You'll shoot your eye out kid'

I was thinking of making brown PC boolits just to troll the range 'experts'.
When they come up and ask about what I'm shooting, I can tell 'em,
"Oh, I make these myself to hold my costs down. They're wood. I just cut off dowel rods or pencils".

Smoke has a color named "bacon grease" it's like a desert tan.

I have not used brown but I have struggled with Harbor Freight Red for years. Started with a crappy oven and the red turned out brownish. I am out of HF red now and currently have no powder. I must learn what works better then what I was doing as HF red has me very discouraged.

Get ahold of smoke I am told he has good powders.

I love screwing with the tactical Timmy's at the range. Its hard though since they know everything.

Playing one snowy day last year, I mixed Smoke's signal blue and traffic orange and got this.

It is constantly amazing to me how many obnoxious experts there are out there. Maybe folks are used to reloading around here and don't freak out about it as much, so casting also doesn't bother them to the same degree as it does folks other places. What on earth could they possibly object to?

I mix the three primary colors to come up with any color of the rainbow I want. And I have made brown before. Colors have nothing to do with accuracy or performance. Just use good quality powders like Smoke offers and you will be just fine.

I only mix to get odd colors to ID a certain cal/weight/design/load and not for a technicolor beauty pageant.

"Oh, I make these myself to hold my costs down. They're wood. I just cut off dowel rods or pencils".

That's hilarious. Make sure you have someone recording that interaction.
