I talked to family if they were affected by the Tsunami that hit the west coast of the USA
They were all OK
As non of them live close to the ocean or rivers

Anyone have any problems from the Tsunamis caused by the volcano eruption ?

Has it reached the US now? I heard it was going to take awhile because it was so far away, but that was a news report from awhile ago too.

Not sure when it hit
But I saw the warnings saying 3'
I sent a Email to family and got one in return

So I am not sure of all the details

It already hit and caused some minor flooding at marinas and beaches.

What? I watch the news pretty closely but heard nothing of a volcano or tsunami

An undersea volcano erupted near Tonga. Caused a tsunami all along the west coast, US and Canada.

Youtube is covered with videos of it washing in on various shorelines.
It came ashore at about 3' in most places and did some damage,
but nothing like the ones that hit Japan, various islands in the Pacific, or Indonesia once in awhile.

The West coast is a danger area for them.
I was chasing around watching historical documentaries awhile ago, and watched one
that talked of a 300' tall one that hit the upper North West US coast in the 1700s.

As mild as this one was, like teenagers--- they do bear considerable watching.

On of my daughters lives about an hour from me in Pacifica California. She sent me a couple of pictures of the Tsunami hitting the seawall. It was not to be there as the water came over the seawall only about a foot or so. something like a big wave during a storm. They live a ways from the ocean and quite a bit higher above the shoreline.

My daughter on Maui mentioned swells of 2-3 feet. Perhaps it was not as bad since it was mostly in open water so the force was not focused off a shore line. Just glad it was not a bad one.

Nothing but better surf here.
Was kind of hoping something big would hit.
But nothing special.
