EDIT: Found One!!

I have a 1947 Marlin Model 36 in need of a rear peep sight. The rifle is well-worn, so a new sight won't look right. I would like to find a Lyman or Redfield that would look correct on this rifle.

I also have some odds and ends I could offer in trade if interested. 30-06 brass, some revolver grips, and some other things...

You have good taste in rifles, sights, and patina. Your last year 36 is factory tapped?

I have a 1936 marlin in 32 special that I found a vintage Redfield receiver sight, looks and works great. That's what you want a tang sight goes on the tang behind the hammer.

I've considered a tang sight, but they seem like they would be in the way when not in use?

A tang sight folds down. I have a new old stock Lyman 3902100 in the box you could drag down a dirt road to make it look older. $75 shipped. PM SENT --I hit the wrong # and corrected.
