405 Winchester brass, dies, etc,?

Hello all,
Thinking about adding a 405 Winchester to the stable. A quick search shows no brass or dies available in my normal sources. I think a mold would be no problem from Accurate molds as soon as I could figure out what I need/want.
Any idea on sources for brass or dies? What weight bullet do those who shoot the 405 prefer? I know the 405 has a reputation for being a thumper but I would most likely load it pretty sedate.

There is definitely brass available if you look around. But I have experimented with forming it from 30-40 Krag and 303 British - short, but very functional. I actually kept those efforts and keep them loaded with pistol bullets.
The dies were available recently, and fairly common on ebay or GunBroker. There was an article from the 70's about using alternative brass as well as combined effort from other dies, I don't recall what publication?

In our 405 1895 (jap) we have shot up to 345 gr FNGC at 2000 fps. But or general purpose load is a 280 grain PBFN at 1850 fps.
I have little doubt that loading will fail on any critter I ever see in our great US of A.

I’ve got Hornady brass and dies and loaded ammo, I would think Hornady would continue with this caliber

Although I have enough and don't shoot this gun very often I agree and hope Hornady will run the brass again.

I have 40 rounds loaded up and two boxes of factory (less 4 rounds). That is more than I shoot in a year from that rifle. I use a Lyman 310 to reload them.

Not fast but accurate and softer on my replacement shoulder than factory.
