stopped in at a goodwill store today i was rummaging threw the misc junk and found this guy hiding in a craftsman toolbox , i didnt care to buy the whole box so i asked the nice lady at the cash register if i could buy just the one item , 75 cents later i was one happy camper :)

the first thing ive ever seen at goodwill even remotely related to reloading at a goodwill .

needs a bit of clean up and its missing the handle pins but its not looking in to terrible shape .
already having this mold in both a single and double cavity doesnt detract a bit from my warm fuzzy feeling

Wife called me up one day from Goodwill, and said she's lookin at something that i'd be interested in but she didn't know what is was. It looked spendy, and they wanted ten bucks, "do ya want to take a gamble?"

I says, "go ahead, I'll take the risk." When I got home, she had a like new, Mitutoyo dial caliper in the box. Best score ever, and I use it darned near every day. jd

i didnt want to sound like i was bragging or anything so i didnt tell the entire tale , this guy was in there too , the box looked nicer so she made pay a buck for this one .

there was 4-5 other molds but they were all loose rattling around with about 30 lbs of rusty tools and i couldnt find a single redeeming quality in any of them , strange enough not a single one had the handle pins or sprue plate so i didnt bother with them

Happyness is a nice $0.75 cent mould !
A $1.00 mould isn't bad .

Most Excellent Score !

Me ... Myself being a mould addicted Pack-Rat would have bought everything in the box even remotely mould related ...
I just can't can't help myself .

Only thing I found was a Lee rb mould for cb revolvers at a church yard sale for $5.

Couple years ago I was looking around the local Goodwill when I spotted a Leopold rifle scope box, when I picked it up I could feel weight in it, my heart quickened as I opened it up to find a run of the mill Bushnell, still worth the $5 though.

Way cool.

When anything other than old clothes or left over garage sale trash comes to our Goodwill-
I think they throw it away.

Nice! I bought a hoppe’s #9 bottle for 75 cents a two years ago at the Salvation Army. Was the old style that the cap was a cork. Sold it for $84 on eBay! Bought me a nice new mold with it!

I'm not sure what to do with these I already have both molds , but I might try out the 311291 and see if it casts a fatter boolit then my newer mold . Something around .312 would please me to no end

I bought a RCBS Powder Pro Digital scale in the box for $6.89 at the local Goodwill about 6-8 years ago. Passed by it at first but for $7, what the heck. It had the wall wart, pan and check weights. I had to make a copy of the manual. Checked it by 3 of my other scales and it works great and still works great today. It's the first scale I grab to verify the progressive press's powder measures.

KUDOS on an excellent day & finds!

It's not often you find firearm related stuff at any Goodwill. Most often,, it shows up because someone didn't know what it was & puts it out. I once was parked outside a Salvation Army thrift store,, and saw a box full of reloading stuff walk inside. I got out to follow it. The folks there, refused to accept it. I politely asked the guy if we could talk.
Outside,, I offered to pay him for the box of goodies.
He was upset that they wouldn't take it & GAVE it to me. All while saying he'd never contribute to them again. I gave him my card,, and said; "Anytime you want to make a donation of firearm related stuff,, give me a call. I work as a volunteer for the Friends of the NRA,, and we fundraise annually."
I promised him I'd see if any of the stuff could be used as a fundraiser.
He donated to my FoNRA event, a pair of MEC shotgun loaders. I only kept some of the little stuff in that box.

What would be the approximate value of a 311291 mold in good condition? Picked up a couple of molds with one being the aforementioned 311291 and looks to be in great shape.

Single cavity; ~$45. OR, whatever you ask for it with a buyer eager to buy.

Never seen anything at GW that was made specifically for casting, let alone gun related or power tool related. The last I was told is for the liability. The second might be legal restrictions and or the fact that I don’t think a thrift is where most folks would send unwanted shooting gear. The first might be both or just rarity.

I’m guessing the donor and/or the store didn’t recognize what was being given. Anyway, aren’t those thrift store gems we crow about always that way, something of value that the donor and store just didn’t pick up on?

The goodwill stores here never have power tools and such either , mostly clothes , books ( what I was after ) and the usual furniture and misc household stuff .
But you do see hand tools from time to time . The nearest goodwill store to me is about 20 miles away and I don't get that way often so I try to stop if I'm close .
Trip before this one I found a stack of vintage Woolworth wool blankets for $5 each . I'd of bought all of them it I had a cedar chest to store them in

I've never found any firearms/reloading gear but I have found many items useful in the workshop and/or loading room. Misc. tools that can be used or repurposed into specialized tools, storage containers, shelving units, kitchen items such as colanders, stainless spoons/utensils, tongs, etc.
