Have had a problem with my Lyman 450 Lube/Sizer.
It has seen better days. The ram is real loss in the
body of the press. Couple that with a top punch that
has a small shaft and you can get some very bent bullets.
Have some real nice 6.5mm bananas. Not to mention
The problem I have had with it “Bumping” up the noise
of just about any 22Ca. I size in it.

So I tried the LEE push through dies. I really like the way
they work, great to size but hate the mess to lube them.
Doesn’t bend or bump up the noise of your bullet.
On the right track.

A couple of years age seen a Meacham push through
Lubrisizer for black powder cast bullets on the net.
Called Meacham and they no long make them and just
Made them for larger stuff any way.

So I got out my LEE push through die a Redding neck
size die and my calipers and went to work. Redding makes
Neck Sizer Bushings from .185 to .365 – That should cover
Every thing that I have been able to bend or bump up!

Built a prototype last week. Works great as a sizer but
need to come up with a better lube system. Made it for
22Ca. and it will size from .223 to .226 by just changing
the bushings.

The lube reservoir is a manual bearing lubber
from McMaster Carr. It was cheap and got me started.
Have a reservoir designed that will hold a full stick and it
will be my next project. All the same I think the lube will
have to be a softer lube than what I have been using..
Any one use a softer Felix Lube?

Swede, one of the barges that I used to work on had some truely ancient pumps. Bearings were lubricated with grease via a hex shaped body that held the grease and pressure was done with a threaded rod that screwed into the hex body and was turned by a "T" handle at the end of the threaded rod. Should be easy to make out of round stock and inside diameter could be anything you wanted, with internal thread. Put an "O" ring at the inside end so's the lube doesn't migrate up the threads due to the pressure. Frank

Thanks for the idea.

Sounds like a ease fix.
Keep it small diameter and you probably
can get some good pressure.

Mixed up some Bee's wax and Liquid Alox.
Got it a little soft - but it works good.

The sizer works great just need to get a
good mix for the lube that will feed.

Ordered some Lar45's 50/50 to try too.

Now to make one for 6.5mm and maybe
30 Cal.

Got in the 50/50 lube from Lar45.
Works great just as it is!
Was afraid I was going to have to soften it up.

It does get a little lube on the nose but I hope
to play with it and get it to clean up.

When you size a bullet with one in the die it
compress the air space between them and pops
the first bullet out - had to pick a couple up off the floor.

Going to try a 1oz. Lube reservoir next.

All in all I think I'm going to like it.
