I am looking for a die to size the body of a 223/5.56 case without sizing the neck.

I have 150 loaded cases that do not chamber in my present 223. They did chamber in my older 223 that I no longer have.

I could use a FL sizing die and grind the neck sizing part out.

Please PM me here with what you have.

If the binding is down near the base, a 38 / 357 sizing die with the decapping rod removed might work.

I have had some brass that was a bear to run through my full length 223 sizer. I found it was easier to run it through my carbide 38 /357 die first.

I had/have the exact same issue. Loads for a former shot out Remington 700 .223 will not fit in a newer custom barrelled 223. i had or bought because of this issue a set of Redding type S bushing dies. Remove the decapping rod/expander and the bushing and you have a body die. I sized (bumped the shoulder) on a couple hundred and they chamber just fine now. Still have about 300 or 400 more to size.

Maybe get a cheap lee or other FL die and drill out the neck slightly oversize. If you can drill it. Sandpaper on a dowel might be a better option to remove several thousandths.

BTW, the loads shoot just as good in the new rifle as the last one.
